In preparation for the installation of your new flooring, we would like to offer the following recommendations to make for a smooth process. Installers will arrive between 8:30-9:30 AM, unless other arrangements have been made.
Disconnect and remove all electronics such as televisions, stereos/surround sound, gaming and computer systems.
Remove all loose personal belongings and fragile items from the furniture (i.e. wall units and bookcases) to be moved and store these in a safe place.
Remove valuables for safekeeping.
Arrange for pianos, pool tables, freezers, and aquariums to be moved from the area of installation.
Strip beds and store linens.
Remove all shoes, clothing and loose items from the floors and closet, as well as long ganging clothes. Installers require 24 inches of clearance from the floor.
Take paintings off the walls especially if the frames have glass in them).
Carefully gather the folds of floor length curtains, drape fabric through a coat hanger, and hang it on the curtain rod out of the way.
Empty large freezers and or fridges as much as possible.
Pack the items in your fridge very well to avoid spills (i.e tape milk cartons closed).
Store pots and pans from the oven drawer in boxes or in a cupboard.
Installers are not qualified to disconnect or reconnect gas appliances, dishwashers and fridges with plumbing attached. Please make appropriate arrangements with qualified appliance personnel equipped to perform this service safely. Without these arrangements, installers will install the floor as far as possible beneath the appliance.
Toilet should be cleaned and sanitized for the removal and replacement by the installers.
Please arrange for your four-legged friends to be either caged or kept in an area confined as doorways are often left open during the installation process.
